Der direkt gewählte Bundestagsabgeordnete des Wahlkreises Emmendingen-Lahr, Yannick Bury, tauschte sich in dieser Woche mit Dr. Judith Joos und Prof. Dr. Michael Müller über die Initiative “Region der Lebensretter” aus. “Der plötzliche Herztod ist eine der häufigsten Todesursachen. Über 50.000 Menschen erleiden jährlich in Deutschland einen Herz-Kreislaufstillstand”, erklärte Prof. Müller, Chefarzt für Anästhesie, Intensiv- und Notfallmedizin. Eine echte Überlebenschance haben Patienten nur, wenn umgehend mit lebensrettenden Maßnahmen begonnen wird.
Der Verein Region der Lebensretter e.V. hat daher seit 2018 ein App-basiertes System etabliert, mit dem Rettungsleitstellen Ersthelfer über Smartphone in der Nähe eines Notfalls orten und alarmieren können. Diese Retter, die in den ersten Minuten nach einem Herz-Kreislaufstillstand eintreffen, können die Überlebenschance von Patienten verdoppeln bis vervierfachen. In der Region sind bereits über 300 Ersthelfer registriert.
“Es ist Aufgabe der Politik, solche Projekte zu fördern und die regulatorischen Rahmen so zu gestalten, dass Lebensretter unproblematisch und unbürokratisch ihre Arbeit machen können”, kommentierte der Abgeordnete. “Wenn es um Menschenleben geht, dürfen solche Projekte nicht an der Finanzierung oder einer undurchsichtigen Gesetzeslage scheitern.” so Bury. Im Bundestag will sich Bury darum für eine dauerhafte Finanzierung des Projektes und eine Klärung der offenen rechtlichen Fragen einsetzen.
